Preyer

At night, I pray
And when I do
The fear comes through
I pray the angels to keep her safe
To keep me in her life
I pray the angels keep me healthy
And I pray for her life

But its not a God I pray to

Although I imagine his light
Shining down upon me
I recognize his plan
And the threads of divinity

But I know its not him

That I need plead to
Angels surround my sleep
Facing outward with stoic eyes
Because Death taps my doorways
Nightly whispering winds of welcoming
The hills face downward
And her eyes can be seen
In every periphery
Brothers, Sisters, Rivals
And us, their prey
As they too pray
We are not
Alone

They walk among us

They listen to us
They feed upon
Us

We all sense it

Feel it, within us
Around us, the aging fire
Upon us

But of me

Love has come and gone
As has, the revolution
Tasks to inspire the young
Where life leads them into less
Worthy of distractions
Come back to you
Come back to
Why
We
Come here

Your Angels know better

Your Death waits
With patience..
Count
Your blessings
Your heart's inventory
With pride..

Know This Day Wasn't Promised

Know Tomorrow isn't either.
Know Everything you do,
Matters
