Goodbye

If I could feel you right now
Like I somehow know soon I will
You would feel this longing
And know I am at peace still
My years came and have since gone
But all those moments in between
Forever, I’ll carry you all with me
My Children, my love, my life, my soul
I will always be with you, I know you know
Throughout my life,
As we all do, I made my mistakes
But for those of you I loved, nothing changed
My time passed by in a flash it seemed
But remember this, if anything
Life is too proud, too short and too fast
We often forget to just shut up and laugh
Tell the ones you love
You love them without fear
Because in the end
That’s all any of us need to hear
If ever a word from me broke your heart
Know they were just words, that’s all
Before we know it, we will meet again
My Children, my love, my life, try if you can
To remember I Love You until then!

Taunting

I can feel you there

Almost close enough to touch

Taunting me with things unable to express

The fact that I know we are all slaves

Beings incapable of change

You taunt and tease me

Because I believe in you

These fears I know are true

As I walk through

Hypnotized but not blind

To the ways of human kind

To my own mistakes before I make them

Unable to throw caution to the wind

My biggest mistake of all maybe

Tortured by the weight of my heart

Heavy with this knowledge

But unable to break apart

These words I read, these secrets I seek

Provide no power for retreat

Nor any weapons of escape

Some way to find terms to come to

I must create
