One day this will all be over
And we’ll sit pondering days passed
Questioning the life we’ve lived
And the times we laughed
Knowing none us this will accompany us
Through this door that’s coming towards
I wonder what I will reflect upon
And what will appear to be real
Remembering every missed opportunity
And everything we’ve ever feared
Regret, the poison, bitterness of tongue
Knowing now that what’s done is done
It’s over now, no sense in trying
All of these possessions
And reasons to deny acceptance
Life is what happens
When we’re busy making plans
And so few of us ever truly understand
This breath we breathe
Is only a moment in eternity
A gift so simple
Yet so hard to perceive
Only the taste of true love
Stays in the memories
